Maccabi Tel Aviv suffered a heavy 113:99 defeat against Real Madrid in Belgrade after leading by as many as 15 points in the second quarter. Unlike their previous dramatic encounter in October 2025, where the yellow-and-blue side triumphed 91:90 thanks to a clutch three-pointer by Tamir Blatt, this time the Spanish powerhouse turned the tide.

Head coach Oded Kattash addressed the physical toll after the match: "I think overall we had a good first half. In the second half, we lacked some legs and experienced fatigue, especially our guards. Playing against a machine like Real Madrid is never easy, and when their guards shoot at such high percentages, we just couldn't slow them down."

Commenting on newcomer Keaton Wallace, Kattash added: "He is not the first player to experience an adjustment period in European basketball. The injury situation puts us in a spot where we need more depth in the backcourt, and I trust the management to bring in a reinforcement."
