Palestinian Reports: Vehicles Set on Fire in Jalud — IDF Investigating
Palestinian sources reported that vehicles were set on fire in the Jalud area south of Nablus overnight. The IDF stated that it is investigating the incident.
Palestinian sources reported that overnight (between Monday and Tuesday), individuals, identified as extreme right-wing activists, arrived in the Jalud area south of Nablus and set fire to vehicles belonging to village residents. Residents reported that the activists moved between houses and knocked on doors.
The IDF did not provide an immediate response regarding whether Central Command forces were present at the scene during the incident. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated that they are currently investigating the reports and do not yet have details on the events.
These reports follow a recent increase in violent incidents in Judea and Samaria. Late last month, right-wing activists were reported to have carried out "price tag" attacks, including the burning of mosques in the villages of Kur and Qusra, as well as the destruction of heavy machinery at a stone-crushing facility in Ein Samiya.
Following these events, approximately 600 senior reserve commanders appealed to US President Donald Trump, warning of the security consequences of the escalation in Judea and Samaria. The letter was sent ahead of the meeting between the President and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this past weekend.
The letter was organized by the "Commanders for Israel's Security" movement and signed by former senior officials from the IDF, Mossad, Shin Bet, the Israel Police, and the Foreign Service.
"The continuation of these trends could harm Israel's security, undermine regional stability, endanger the interests of the United States, and harm efforts to expand the Abraham Accords," the signatories warned.
