High alert in Ukraine: reports indicate that Russia is preparing for a large-scale missile attack. President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of a high probability of a strike tonight, citing intelligence and partner data.
High alert in Ukraine: over the past day, reports have been increasing that Russia is preparing for a large-scale missile attack. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky estimated that the strike could occur as early as tonight:
"We know from intelligence sources and from our partners that the Russians prepared for a massive strike a few days ago, and tonight there is a high probability that the attack will be carried out."
This comes amid an urgent request that Zelensky is presenting to Donald Trump regarding the shortage of Patriot missiles. Zelensky added that the safety of citizens depends on the willingness of allies, primarily the USA, to provide Kyiv with interceptors: "Each of the partners knows what is required and clearly understands the consequences of the delay. Please, in all regions of Ukraine, pay attention to air raid warning signals today and take care of yourselves."
Against this backdrop, Zelensky arrived yesterday at the White House for a meeting with President Donald Trump, aiming to secure commitments to strengthen Kyiv's missile defense systems. During the talks, Zelensky requested a license to produce Patriot missiles in Ukraine. He also claimed that Iran is a full partner in the Russian aggression against Ukraine—a claim linked to the recent Ukrainian attack on an Iranian cargo ship in the Caspian Sea and what appears to be a retaliatory response from Iran in the Egypt area.
