Rami Levy, Victory and Carrefour: The same shopping basket with a difference of almost 1,000 shekels
A massive check of 148 products in seven digital retail chains reveals huge differences of tens of percent, with the gap between the first and last place reaching over 900 shekels for the exact same basket.

The competition for the digital consumer's wallet leads to huge gaps of hundreds of shekels for the exact same shopping basket. In a survey published in 'Maariv' and conducted by the Retail Research Institute (based on data from the 'Prices' website), a uniform basket of 148 products was checked across seven online platforms.
The findings show a huge gap of 936.13 shekels — about 40.8% — between the cheapest and most expensive chain. The cheapest basket was offered by the Rami Levy chain at a price of 2,292.92 shekels, followed by Carrefour with 2,407.12 shekels — a gap of less than 5%.
Further down the ranking is Keshet Teamim with a basket costing 2,559.59 shekels, Mahsanei HaShuk with 2,610.46 shekels, Victory with 2,628.97 shekels, and Shufersal with 2,732.88 shekels. The list is closed by Wolt Market as the most expensive platform, with a basket whose price reaches 3,229.05 shekels — a huge difference of 936.13 shekels compared to the first place.
The total gap is built from sharp differences in individual products: Yakhin corn kernels were sold at Victory for 3.90 shekels compared to 11.50 shekels at Wolt Market (a gap of almost 195%), dry chickpeas by Sugat cost 3.90 shekels at Rami Levy compared to 10.90 shekels at Wolt Market.
Furthermore, frozen broccoli by Sunfrost was sold at Carrefour for 12.90 shekels compared to 29.90 shekels at Wolt Market, and schnitzel fingers by Mama Of were sold for 22.30 shekels at Rami Levy compared to 46.90 shekels at Wolt Market.
