Rami Levy, Carrefour or Shufersal: Where to find the most affordable shopping in Israel

A survey conducted ahead of Rosh Hashanah reveals the most affordable supermarket chains for meat, poultry, fruits, and vegetables. Rami Levy leads the market by a significant margin.

A survey conducted by the Geocartography Institute among a national sample of 500 respondents (Jewish and Arab sectors) has identified the most affordable supermarket chains ahead of Rosh Hashanah and the upcoming holidays. In the category of meat and poultry, the Rami Levy chain ranked first with 31% of the vote.

Osher Ad followed in second place with 24%, and Hatzi Hinam took third with 10%. They were followed by Yohananof (8%), Carrefour (5%), Shufersal (4%), Victory (4%), Yesh Hesed and Mahsanei HaShuk (3% each), and Tiv Taam, Keshet Taamim, and Yeinot Bitan (1% each).

Regarding the most affordable basket of fruits and vegetables, the Rami Levy Shivuk HaShikma chain also took the lead (33%), followed by Osher Ad (26%). Yohananof and Shufersal tied for third place (7% each). These were followed by Victory (6%), Hatzi Hinam (5%), Mahsanei HaShuk, Carrefour, and Yesh Hesed (3% each), and Keshet Taamim, Yeinot Bitan, and Fresh Market (1% each).

Yafit Levy, co-CEO of Rami Levy Shivuk HaShikma, noted: "We are pleased that, according to the survey results, our chain continues to lead research on the most affordable shopping basket in the country."
