One Killed and Two Wounded in Rahat Shooting Amid Family Feud
A 23-year-old man was killed and two others wounded in a shooting in Rahat on Monday. Police suspect the incident stems from a violent family feud triggered by an earlier assault on a minor.

A 23-year-old man was killed and two others were wounded on Monday in a shooting incident in the city of Rahat. The Israel Police launched an investigation into the circumstances, with initial suspicions pointing to a criminal dispute between families.
According to Magen David Adom, the three victims were brought to a local clinic following the shooting. Paramedics provided initial medical treatment before evacuating them to Soroka Medical Center. Muhanad Kamalat, 23, was critically wounded with penetrating injuries and later pronounced dead at the hospital. The two other victims, aged 23 and 26, sustained moderate penetrating injuries.
MDA paramedic Malek Abu Arara and emergency medical technician Ahmed Al-Grinawe recounted the initial response: "When we arrived at the scene, we found the victims who had been brought to the clinic following a violent incident. Among them was a 23-year-old in critical and unstable condition with a penetrating injury, alongside two other young men aged 23 and 26 in moderate condition, also suffering from penetrating wounds. We provided life-saving medical treatment and evacuated them to the hospital."
Police forces from the Rahat station in the Southern District secured the scene, collected evidence, and initiated searches for suspects. According to the investigation, the violent confrontation erupted following an earlier incident late at night in which a minor from Rahat was assaulted and beaten by a group of men, prompting a retaliatory shooting by the minor's family.
