The former head of the traffic department at the Tavor police station has been charged with indecent assault and breach of trust, according to an indictment filed by the Police Internal Investigations Department on Monday. The officer is accused of questioning the mother of a teenager suspected of a crime, touching her without her consent, and attempting to kiss her in May 2025.

According to the indictment filed at the Magistrate's Court in Nof HaGalil, the officer asked the teenager to wait outside his room and told the mother that they had good chemistry, moving past the friendship stage. He then stroked her cheek, arm, and thigh against her will while she began to shake with fear. At one point, he told her to look at him, turned her head toward him, and pressed his face against hers.

The indictment further alleges that the officer invited the woman to return to the station at night, promising to keep her son's case—involving suspected driving without a license—under his direct handling and out of the police database. Before she left, he asked for a hug, pulled her toward him against her will, and pressed his body and genitalia against hers. He then asked to kiss her, but she refused and managed to break free.

The Police Internal Investigations Department stated that the officer intentionally refrained from documenting the teenager's detention in the police system, violating regulations. Prosecutors noted that the acts were committed without the woman's free consent and that the defendant, as a public servant, committed acts harming the public trust. The prosecution announced it may seek a custodial prison sentence.
