Eurovision Winner Lenny Kuhr Immigrates to Israel Amid Rising Europe Antisemitism
Eurovision 1969 winner Lenny Kuhr immigrated to Israel on Monday, citing family ties and rising antisemitism in Europe as key reasons for her relocation.

Eurovision winner Lenny Kuhr, who represented the Netherlands and won the contest in 1969, arrived in Israel on Monday afternoon alongside her husband, Robert. Kuhr landed at Ben Gurion Airport as a new immigrant, where representatives from the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration greeted her and assisted with her initial steps in the country.
Earlier this year, Kuhr announced her decision to relocate to Israel, where her children reside. In previous interviews, she explained that alongside her desire to be closer to family, rising antisemitism and the deteriorating climate for Jews in the Netherlands influenced her choice to move.
Upon her arrival, Kuhr shared her deep emotions, stating she has visited Israel many times and truly feels at home there. She noted that the situation in Europe has become difficult, adding that as a singer she has experienced concert cancellations and even received death threats. She expressed excitement about learning Hebrew and building her next chapter alongside her husband and daughter, who previously made Aliyah.
Dganit Sanker-Langa, Director-General of the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, welcomed the singer warmly, emphasizing that the ministry will continue to accompany her throughout her absorption process to ensure a smooth transition into Israeli society.
