Procter & Gamble is acquiring the nutritional supplement brand Thorne for $3.8 billion, said the company's CEO, Shailesh Jejurikar, on CNBC's "Squawk on the Street" program. Through the acquisition, which is expected to be officially announced today, Procter & Gamble is attempting to expand its Health and Wellness division.

The consumer goods giant already owns several nutritional supplement brands, including Metamucil, Align probiotics, and New Chapter vitamins. "We are very pleased with the brand itself," Jejurikar told CNBC. "It's a well-run business, and it's been around for a long time."

The Thorne brand was founded in 1984 and went public in late 2021 at a valuation of $525 million. In 2023, the L Catterton fund acquired the company and took it private in a deal valued at $680 million. According to Thorne's data, its revenue in 2025 totaled more than $500 million. CNBC notes that most of Thorne's revenue comes from buyers under the age of 40. Thorne CEO Colin Watts told CNBC earlier this year that the company has the potential to become a billion-dollar brand within the coming years.
