Pirates Party Registers for Knesset Elections with Professor Dan Ariely on List
The Pirates party has registered for the 26th Knesset elections, featuring best-selling author and social psychologist Professor Dan Ariely as its third candidate.
The race for the 26th Knesset features several unconventional political lists that have drawn public attention. The "Pirates" party has officially requested the letters "Tzadi-Fe-Final Fe-Resh-Final Fe-Zayin" from the Central Elections Committee. Among its 25 registered candidates, a major surprise emerged in the third spot: Professor Dan Ariely, the world-renowned social psychologist and best-selling author.
In parallel, the "Sharsher for Love and Unity of the Nation" party, led by Eitan Shwili, has submitted its registration requesting the Hebrew letter "Tzedek" (Justice).
The Pirates are not newcomers to the Israeli political arena. Founded in 2012 by Ohad Shem-Tov alongside a group of intellectuals and cultural figures, the party has run in every national election since the 19th Knesset in 2013. Its historical peak was achieved in its debut run, garnering only about 2,000 votes, and it has never crossed the electoral threshold.
