After deleting all her posts on Instagram following a flood of negative reactions regarding her appearance, Kate Beckinsale (53) has decided to break her silence. The star of Van Helsing and Pearl Harbor emptied her account of photos, but shared a series of stories with her 5.3 million followers this past Saturday, in which she revealed the criticism — and responded to it.

"Get some Ozempic therapy! You were divine and now you look anorexic!", read one of the comments shared by the actress, three years after she revealed she was diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and about a year after her mother, Judy, passed away. "Gain some weight, you b***h", others wrote, adding that "Hollywood really messed her up bad".

Beckinsale replied, among other things:

"You take a break from Instagram for a few months following the death of your mother, delete all your posts and explain in great detail that one of the reasons you may have lost weight is the fact that weight loss is one of the first physical signs of grief... I think people are perhaps just broken".

To one commenter who asked, "Would you like to gain some weight?", she replied: "Yes, very much".

Beckinsale also addressed the reason why she deleted her photos and posts, telling a commenter who remarked, "I liked you better when I didn't hear you talk": "Well, you won't hear me again. I will delete everything except the books I recommend".

These comments come after the actress shared extensively about her diagnosis in a video — a syndrome that occurs when white blood cells release an excessive amount of a substance, causing allergy-like symptoms. "Every time I post a picture of myself, I get a huge amount of comments telling me how disgusting I look and that I am anorexic or that I am on meth, or that I lost so much weight", said Beckinsale, who was diagnosed 16 years ago. "First of all, I lost my entire family, except for my dear daughter, within a short period of time", she shared, referring to the death of her mother last year and her stepfather in 2024.

Against this backdrop, the actress has previously denied undergoing Botox treatments or injections, stating that her appearance is related to her medical diagnosis — something that fans, whom she called upon to show more sensitivity, apparently do not believe.
