As happens every few months, the last time being in May, a global technical malfunction in the Wolt app prevented users from placing new orders. Upon entering the app, users received the following message: "Unfortunately, we are experiencing a global malfunction that prevents us from accepting new orders at the moment. We apologize for the inconvenience."

After about an hour, Wolt stated that the malfunction had been fixed; however, some users are still encountering restrictions, with messages such as: "The area is temporarily closed for deliveries."

It is not the first time that Wolt's competitors have taken advantage of the momentum. Mishloha, for example, sent a push notification to its customers with a jab: "There are apps that take a lunch break. If hunger works, so do we."

Wolt stated: "We experienced a short global malfunction earlier. The malfunction has been handled and the service has returned to full operation."
