Going on the offensive: Trump called the media "treacherous scum"
The US President harshly criticized claims of ammunition shortages following the operation in Iran, declaring that the US has "almost unlimited" quantities. According to him, production is at unprecedented levels and the administration now prefers to stockpile ammunition for the US instead of selling it to other countries.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, harshly criticized today, Thursday, the claims that the war in Iran is causing a shortage of American ammunition, and argued that the United States has stockpiles far greater than those required for the current campaign. In two posts he published on the Truth Social network, Trump called the media outlets reporting otherwise "treacherous war scum" and claimed that anyone who continues to warn of an ammunition shortage is "actually a traitor."
"We have almost unlimited quantities of medium to high-level ammunition, much more than we could ever use for this war, or any other war," Trump wrote.
According to him, the United States is also currently producing ammunition "at levels never seen before" and is working to increase stockpiles and prepare for future scenarios.
Trump added that the administration is now prioritizing the needs of the United States over selling ammunition to other countries. "We are taking them for ourselves, for the USA, instead of selling them to others," he wrote, but clarified that the sale of ammunition to Washington's allies is expected to resume soon.
"Prefer to see the USA lose than to see me win"
In another post, Trump sharpened his tone against the critics: "The people and media outlets that continue to complain that we don't have ammunition - and they are 100% wrong - are actually traitors." According to him, the critics "would rather see the United States lose a war that we are winning easily, than see me win."
Trump also addressed the American aid to Ukraine during the Joe Biden administration, and claimed that Kyiv received ammunition in a volume far greater than that which the United States used in the campaign in Iran. He claimed that "hundreds of billions of dollars" were transferred to Ukraine and NATO without return, and that European countries could have borne these costs.
According to him, his administration intends to demand the funds, even though it is being done late. Trump did not specify in the posts how he intends to collect the amounts or from whom exactly they will be demanded.
