Hapoel Tel Aviv will host Polish side Katowice this coming Thursday in Miskolc, Hungary (21:00, Sport 2) for the third qualifying round of the Conference League. However, the club is currently awaiting a UEFA decision regarding potential sanctions following a flare display during their away match against Ludogorets.

The incident occurred just one day after the 'Reds' were handed a suspended sentence for pyrotechnic incidents during their 'home' match in Miskolc against the Bulgarian team. UEFA fined Hapoel Tel Aviv 25,000 euros for the use of pyrotechnics in the first leg against Ludogorets. Additionally, the club received a suspended penalty involving the partial closure of 10% of their stadium for the next home match in European competition, valid for a two-year period.

Hapoel officials remain uncertain about the outcome of the new proceedings opened following the events in the second leg in Razgrad and are awaiting a ruling. The club hopes that any additional penalties imposed will not impact the two matches against Katowice. The first leg against the Polish side will take place this Thursday in Hungary, with the return leg scheduled for a week later in Poland.
