Starting this week: exclusive direct flights from Israel to a popular destination in Italy
Blue Bird airline is launching a direct and unique route from Ben Gurion Airport to Bologna with fares starting at 128 euros one way, with direct flights to other popular Italian destinations to be added later this month.
The Greek airline Blue Bird Airways is expanding its operations in Italy by launching a new direct flight route between Tel Aviv and Bologna. This new route offers Israeli passengers a convenient way to reach one of the most sought-after regions in northern Italy without the need for connecting flights. The company will be the sole carrier operating direct flights on this route.
Operations will commence on September 2, 2026, with a frequency of three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Ticket prices start from 128 euros one way. The Bologna route complements the company's existing Italian network, which already includes direct flights to Bergamo and Milan, marking a continued expansion ahead of the autumn and winter season.
Furthermore, starting September 17, the company plans to add direct flights to Rome and Naples to its network, significantly increasing the variety of Italian destinations available to the Israeli public. Flights to Bologna are available for booking through the company's official systems and travel agents.
Representatives of Blue Bird and Kavim Hofsha stated that the launch of the Bologna route is significant news for Israeli travelers, especially given the high demand for direct flights to Italy. According to them, Bologna is not only a central destination in its own right but also an excellent gateway for exploring the region, and this expansion is part of a strategy to increase travel options for the Israeli public.
