Orian Goren had an especially exciting evening this past Friday. Although not in an official capacity, the 17-year-old made his debut for the senior team of Barcelona, coming off the bench at halftime in a 4:1 victory over Europa CE.

The Catalans, who began their preparations for the season without a number of key players recovering from the World Cup, are taking the opportunity to give youth players the chance to prove themselves. The Israeli midfielder has become one of the biggest beneficiaries of this approach.

Sergi Capdevila, a reporter for the Spanish outlet "Sport" who was present at the match held behind closed doors, praised Goren's performance:

"He recorded very good minutes. In general, all the youth players are contributing. Overall, the feelings at Barcelona regarding this first friendly match are positive."

"Barcelona continued to control the game"

"Sport" added: "The German coach, Hansi Flick, took the opportunity to distribute playing minutes and test the condition of the young players who are completing the first team squad. Even with them, Barcelona continued to control the game in the second half as well."

The Israeli midfielder took to the pitch alongside Marc-André ter Stegen, Alex Gonzalez, Xavi Espart, Toni Fernandez, Marc Casado, and Tommy Marks with the score at 1:2 in favor of the Catalans. He helped his team win the second half 2:0, leading to a 4:1 final result. It will be interesting to see if he will participate in the next training match.
