KKL-JNF Declares Nova Festival Site Strict Memorial Zone Ahead of Oct 7
Ahead of October 7, KKL-JNF declared the Nova festival site in Re'im Forest a strict memorial zone, banning parties, camping, and barbecues to honor the 378 victims.
Ahead of the anniversary of the October 7 massacre, the Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) announced that the Nova festival site in Re'im Forest is designated strictly as a memorial and commemorative space. Visits during this period will be permitted exclusively for paying respects.
In coordination with the Israel Police, security, and rescue forces, no permits will be issued for organized events or activities unrelated to remembrance. KKL-JNF urged visitors to respect the sanctity of the site, the memory of the victims, and the feelings of the bereaved families.
Camping, pitching tents, setting up sound systems, lighting fires, and barbecuing will be strictly prohibited at the site, alongside any other activities inconsistent with its solemn nature.
KKL-JNF Chairman Eyal Austrinsky stated: "Just as no one would dare consider holding a party at the Auschwitz death camp, it is unthinkable to hold any celebration at the Nova site in Re'im Forest, where 378 civilians and security personnel were murdered."
He added that the organization's sole focus is preserving the sanctity of the victims' memory, noting that KKL-JNF invested millions in establishing the memorial site while the state failed to act.
