"We don't accept Hapoel fans": Asaf Granit's menu sparks a storm

A storm over Asaf Granit's menu: The well-known Jerusalem bar "Yudale" included a line in its menu stating they "accept everyone, except for Hapoel fans." This sparked anger among Hapoel Jerusalem supporters on social media, leading Asaf Granit to issue an apology and clarification.

Asaf Granit's response

"This is Asaf Granit, and I would like to apologize for the words that appeared last night on the menu of the Yudale restaurant. This headline was written by an employee who thought it was a funny joke; we missed it, and the matter went under the radar of the managers, who of course would not have allowed such a thing to be written on the menu."

"We host to bring joy"

The famous chef continued: "This does not reflect our opinion as restaurateurs or my personal opinion at all. We cook and host people solely to bring them joy; it does not matter who you are, what your political views are, or which team you support."

It should be noted that this is not the first time sports have been mentioned in Asaf Granit's restaurants. In a new venue he opened a few days ago in Jerusalem, the menu features the line: "Chicken pita and yalla Beitar." It seems Granit is keen to attract Beitar Jerusalem fans to his businesses.
