Tovah Feldshuh Addresses Cast Tensions Following Adam Brody's Gaza Remarks
Actress Tovah Feldshuh has clarified that deep political disagreements among the cast of 'Nobody Wants This' have not disrupted the show's set, following star Adam Brody's controversial remarks on the Gaza conflict.

The controversy surrounding actor Adam Brody, star of the hit series "Nobody Wants This", and his remarks on the Gaza conflict continues to resonate. After creator Erin Foster and actress Tovah Feldshuh publicly addressed the comments, fans grew concerned that political disagreements might have created on-set tension. Now, Feldshuh has stepped in to clarify the situation and calm public concern.
Responding to a post on Threads suggesting that cast disagreements were causing friction on set, Feldshuh, who portrays Noah's mother Bina in the series, explained that the reality is quite different. "Tension is not rising," she wrote, "Deep disagreements are. Please do not confuse the two, and none of this is brought to the set. I am thoroughly enjoying filming 'Nobody Wants This' and hope we continue for a fourth season."
The storm began following an interview Brody gave to GQ magazine, where he addressed the ongoing war in Gaza and stated: "Put down that I think it's a genocide. Put down that I want a free Palestine." He added: "It's terrible that it took so much death and suffering, but there's a sense that this is reaching a breaking point that should have been reached a long time ago."
Last week, series creator Erin Foster addressed the remarks on the podcast "Not Skinny But Not Fat", describing the situation as complex. "I think our work environment, our set, is very similar to dinner tables around the world, where people argue, debate, and disagree. I love Adam, but I also disagree with him, and that's okay," she stated.
Foster also reached out to the show's Jewish fans, emphasizing that the series remains a "love letter to Judaism". "I want our Jewish fans to know that I see you, hear you, and understand how you feel. That's why I created the show, because of the deeply beautiful experience I had converting and being Jewish. At a time in the world where there is almost zero positive representation for Jews, I think it is so important to have that representation," she said, adding that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Feldshuh previously spoke out about Brody's comments in an interview with the New York Post, calling the accusation of genocide against the Jewish people absurd. "To accuse the Jewish people of genocide is preposterous. It's straight out of Hitler's playbook, turning the victim into the perpetrator," she stated, emphasizing that Israel's survival is vital for the democratic world.
Despite the ideological clashes, Feldshuh affirmed her commitment to maintaining a positive workplace atmosphere. "My job, as Bina and as Tovah, is to love the people on my set in my workplace, to be kind," she said. "Amid global antisemitism, I am thrilled to have been chosen to play a Jewish matriarch. Thrilled and proud, and that will never change."
