Niv Gilboa in a dramatic statement: "They are calling for my assassination, it is indescribable"
Following the publicized confrontation surrounding the criticism he voiced regarding Maya Kay's marketing tactics and the response from Einav Bublil, the host of "Gilboa Index" claims he is receiving calls for his assassination. "It is impossible to describe this ridiculous thing," he said, clarifying that he intends to continue covering the subject in the upcoming program.
Journalist and host of the TV program "Gilboa Index" on the i24NEWS channel, Niv Gilboa, published a video this evening (Thursday) on social media, in which he addressed the storm that developed around the criticism he voiced in recent days – and claimed that following it, calls for his assassination were heard.
At the beginning of his remarks, Gilboa said:
"No, it is impossible to describe this ridiculous thing. They are calling for my assassination because I talked about an influencer who gives us a price 5,000%, 3,000% higher than in China, where she brings the things from."
He then turned directly to Einav Bublil:
"Well, Mrs. Bublil, I hope that you do not cheat or do all sorts of tricks like that on your customers, therefore you surprised me quite a bit. But you know, to call to assassinate me? Come on, there are more important things, certainly ahead of the coming war with Iran, so let's calm down with assassinations and threats."
Gilboa also clarified that he intends to continue dealing with the affair:
"On Sunday in the program we will continue to deal with this matter, because this lawless thing of all sorts of internet influencers who charge exorbitant prices and cheat people... friends, there is no need to get angry about this. Bublil, listen: do not get angry about this, oppose it and explain that there is a limit even for an internet influencer. See you Sunday, 17:50, Channel 13."
The remarks come after Gilboa published a video yesterday (Wednesday) in which he criticized a marketing move involving model Maya Kay. According to him, she promoted the sale of imported products while presenting high brokerage gaps. "We hoped she had calmed down and stopped this nonsense, but what turns out? That yesterday she opened a sparkling launch – a store in the Ramat Aviv Mall with the same Chinese products, only there you will pay hundreds of percent more for them," he said then.
Following the video, Einav Bublil came to Kay's defense and wrote: "Someone must put an end to him. He is unbearable. Truly 'Kolbotek'. My dear, free market, let everyone buy wherever they want." She further added: "This is not criticism, you only spew poison from your mouth about restaurants, about small businesses, about influencers. Just from the tone of your speech and your intonation, one can hear how everything is out of malice and not out of criticism. Go do some soul-searching, everything is for a bit of traffic or ratings."
