Nikola Kusturica Shines in UCLA's 114-63 Win Over North Florida
Seventeen-year-old Serbian phenom Nikola Kusturica scored 29 points in 23 minutes, leading UCLA to a dominant 114-63 victory over North Florida with a historic shooting display.

Nikola Kusturica is quickly making a name for himself in American college basketball. The 17-year-old Serbian talent, who joined UCLA after building a strong reputation in Europe, put on a stellar performance in just his second collegiate game, scoring 29 points in 23 minutes during a commanding 114-63 victory over North Florida.
A Historic First Half
It was his first-half statistics that stole the show: 26 points, shooting a perfect 9-of-9 from the field, 4-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Standing 2.06 meters tall and capable of playing multiple positions, Kusturica added 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal without committing a single turnover.
His offensive explosion helped fuel a massive 35-0 run after UCLA fell behind 17-18, highlighted by three consecutive three-pointers. Head coach Mick Cronin praised his maturity:
"He did not turn the ball over once while having it in his hands the entire time. For a freshman, that is unheard of. He is simply wise beyond his years."
Rising Star Profile
Kusturica's path to UCLA included a stint with Barcelona's youth academy, where he became the youngest player to feature for the Catalan club's senior team. Over the summer, he led Serbia at the U17 World Cup in Turkey, averaging 24.6 points and earning defensive player of the tournament honors.
Choosing UCLA over powerhouse programs like Kentucky and Michigan, Kusturica is already drawing projections as a top-three pick for the 2028 NBA Draft once he becomes eligible.
