The National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) is adjusting its September 2026 benefit distribution schedule due to the upcoming Jewish High Holidays, affecting millions of eligible recipients.
Key changes to the payment schedule:

Unemployment and Income Support Benefits: Payments will be significantly advanced and deposited on September 8, 2026, ahead of Rosh Hashanah.

Long-Term Benefits: In honor of Sukkot, long-term benefits will be advanced to September 22, 2026. This includes old-age pensions, survivors' benefits, work injury compensation, alimony, disability, mobility, nursing care, and Prisoners of Zion benefits.

Child Allowances: These will be deposited on September 20, 2026, on the eve of Yom Kippur.
The reporting and payment deadline for self-employed individuals and employers remains September 15, 2026.
Following the indexation at the beginning of 2026, which saw benefits rise by up to 2.64% due to the Consumer Price Index increase, the average monthly payment across all benefit types now stands at approximately 5,280 NIS.
