Fourteen families arrived yesterday at the new settlement of Naot Harim in the Binyamin region, which will soon become their home. For Dvir and Dana Schnreb, however, the occasion carried a profoundly deeper personal meaning. "For me, the connection to this place carries a deep physical blood tie," says Dvir, one of the new residents. Over seven years ago, he, his father, and his 17-year-old sister Rina set out for a trip to the nearby Ein Danny spring. Upon arrival, they encountered a powerful explosive device planted by a terrorist cell.

"My sister Rina was murdered at that exact moment, my father was lightly injured, and I was severely injured," Dvir recounts. Following a long rehabilitation process, Dvir eventually enlisted in the IDF intelligence corps and became an officer. For years, he struggled to drive on the roads in the area or approach the site of the attack. However, when the government recently approved the establishment and regularization of new communities in Judea and Samaria, Dvir and his wife decided to join the founding nucleus of Naot Harim, located between Nof Tzuf and Nahaliel.

"The decision to move to the settlement is part of a personal and national process that the country has undergone in recent years. We do not close in or retreat after a difficult event, but rather expand, build, and grow," says Dvir.

Binyamin Regional Council Head and Yesha Council Chairman Israel Ganz praised the move as a top-tier Zionist action. The permanent Israeli presence in the area reinforces security for the central regions of the country and connects strategic blocs in the Binyamin territory.
