Hamas Issues Unprecedented Threat of New October 7-Style Attack
Hamas warned Israel through UN officials that it is prepared to launch another October 7-style attack. The unprecedented threat comes amid severe financial distress and ongoing military operations in Gaza.

Hamas senior officials have delivered an unprecedented and aggressive message to Israel, warning that the terror group is prepared to launch another attack similar to the October 7 massacre. The threat indicates that the organization may act wherever possible, including inside Israel, Judea and Samaria, and abroad.
The message was conveyed to the UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov, during a meeting in the Gaza Strip last week, with a request to pass it directly to Israel. Hamas officials cited IDF military operations in the Gaza Strip, the shifting of the yellow line, and the cancellation of elections by the Palestinian Authority as factors leading to a loss of control on the ground.
UN Coordination and Security Briefing
Alakbarov met with the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Maj. Gen. Yoram Hallel, to relay the warning from Gaza. Israeli security officials described the threat as unusually blunt and direct, prompting an urgent briefing for the political and security leadership.
"The messages reflect the severe pressure Hamas is currently facing amid intensive military operations and targeted eliminations of operatives."
Financial Crisis and Military Pressure
Behind the scenes, Hamas is facing severe financial distress, requiring approximately 90 million shekels monthly to pay salaries for roughly 30,000 operatives in the Gaza Strip. Israel continues to reject proposals to allow a technocratic committee or a Palestinian policing force to enter Gaza while military pressure persists.
