Murder of a lawyer in Rishon LeZion: Partner reconstructs the scene
A shocking murder in Rishon LeZion: The partner of the murdered lawyer, who reported the incident to the police and Magen David Adom, recounted the moments of horror during the investigation: "I heard small pops, I didn't think they were gunshots."
On Tuesday, a serious murder occurred in Rishon LeZion: a senior lawyer, aged about 50, was shot to death in his office near the Zahav Mall. The incident was reported to the police and Magen David Adom by the victim's partner, who described the moments of horror during his interrogation:
"At first there were shouts during the conversation between the lawyer and his client. Then I heard small pops; I didn't think they were gunshots at all. I entered his room and saw him lying on the floor under the table. He was covered in blood. He was a good person who never hurt anyone."
Around 16:00, the suspect arrived at the Lachish District Central Unit offices and confessed to the murder. "I shot him," he told the officers. Later, when transferred to the investigators of the Shfela District Central Unit, the suspect promised to assist in locating the gun he had discarded while fleeing. According to him, he had come to the lawyer to discuss a debt of 15,000 NIS.
"For three years I have been chasing him to get the money, and he ignored me," the suspect claimed. "I came to him, and he refused to talk. I took out the gun, which had five bullets, and I shot him." Security footage shows the suspect arriving calmly, heading toward the office, and creating a scene of horror minutes later. The suspect fled toward the fields between Ashdod and Ashkelon, where he reportedly discarded the weapon before deciding to turn himself in.
Advocate Oren Sasson, representing the suspect, told "Maariv":
"This is not the typical scenario of a murderer. The person arrived at the office, apparently calmly. At the moment, he denies the suspicions against him. He is a mentally unstable individual, and we will have to investigate everything. This is not a simple case. According to him, the lawyer owed him 15,000 NIS in compensation for a car accident."
The suspect will be brought to court tomorrow. Those close to him noted that he had been living in seclusion for the past three years.
