The scenario of drone infiltration from the West Bank is on the table, and the security establishment is raising a red flag. By monitoring the war between Russia and Ukraine, officials fear that after Lebanon, the drone threat will materialize in the West Bank arena as well.

A source in the security establishment who spoke with N12 warns:

"It is clear to us that this will reach here as well."

There is concern that explosive drones will be launched from Palestinian cities in the West Bank towards the Sharon region and the center of the country. Over the last few months, more than 300 drones have been located and confiscated in the West Bank. These devices are accessible and easily become dangerous.

Behind the scenes, efforts are underway to find a solution. Sources in the security establishment state that once a solution is found for one drone, it will be found for a thousand. These are accessible drones that can be ordered online and attached with a fiber-optic cable. There is a race against time to address this significant threat.

The threat of explosive drones has already materialized in the Lebanon arena, where they became the main weapon of Hezbollah in the recent campaign.

Threat specifications:

  • Controlled from a distance of up to 15 km

  • Carrying up to 6 kg of explosives

  • Operated via fiber-optic cable, making them immune to IDF electronic warfare measures

This is a precise technological threat for which there is currently no full interception solution.
