A massive 5.43-meter male crocodile weighing over 600 kilograms was captured this week near the village of Kampung Sedi in the Daro district of Malaysia. The operation took place after the giant reptile began encroaching on a local river heavily relied upon by residents for transportation and fishing.

Jeferry Siew, a licensed crocodile hunter who participated in the operation, reported that the reptile was initially spotted near the river mouth. Several weeks ago, it began moving toward the village, raising deep concerns among locals who depend on the vital waterway for their daily commutes and livelihood.

Preparations for the capture took about two weeks, and the operation did not succeed immediately. According to reports, the crocodile managed to break free from a hook during one of the initial attempts and escaped, but the team persisted until they finally secured the animal.

However, Siew warned that another crocodile remains in the area, believed to be even larger than the one captured. This second reptile also managed to slip away, prompting authorities and experts to urge residents to remain vigilant when using the river.
