Following the signing of Omri Glazer, Maccabi Haifa confirmed this evening, Saturday, that the team's goalkeeper, Georgiy Yermakov, is transferring to Metalist Kharkiv. "Thank you, Georgiy," the club stated. "The terms for the transfer of Georgiy Yermakov have been agreed upon, and the goalkeeper will depart to undergo medical examinations early next week. The 24-year-old Yermakov played one season in the green uniform after joining the team at the start of last season. Thank you, Georgiy! We wish you success in your future path." The Ukrainian club is expected to pay approximately three million euros for the goalkeeper.
Following the completion of this deal, Haifa will turn its attention to the backup goalkeeper position, hoping to acquire Omer Niron from Maccabi Netanya. With Netanya having brought in a foreign goalkeeper and signed Niv Antman for another season, the management in Haifa remains optimistic that Niron will join their ranks.
