As we first reported about two weeks ago, Brigadier General Ofer Winter intends to run independently in the 26th Knesset elections and has already approached figures such as Lali Deri and Yosef Haddad in an attempt to recruit them to his new party.

Today, Wednesday, this move became official as Winter announced the party's launch event, which is scheduled for next Tuesday. Alongside the names already revealed, we can now confirm that the team forming around Winter includes Eli Gino, who served as chief of staff of the Givati Brigade during Operation Protective Edge under Winter's command, and Aviv Ezra, founder of the "Victory Generation" movement.

While Winter is building his list, several attempts have been made in recent weeks to persuade him to join other political frameworks. Figures such as Amir Avivi and Gilad Erdan suggested he consider a merger, but Winter refused. His associates clarify that the intention is to run as an independent party under any scenario.

These developments indicate that while Benjamin Netanyahu's circle would like to see another right-wing party operating within the bloc, they do not currently trust the players on the field. Consequently, according to sources close to the Prime Minister, the emerging strategy is to launch a campaign to "absorb" votes, aiming to prevent leakage to smaller right-wing parties.
