Hapoel Petah Tikva grants season ticket to fan injured by iron rod: "Justice will be served to all involved"

Hapoel Petah Tikva issued a statement today, Friday, regarding the severe violent incident that occurred during this week's Toto Cup match. The club announced it will take action against the security company and coordinate with the police and Israeli football authorities to prevent any recurrence. Additionally, the club has granted the injured fan a season ticket for upcoming matches.
The incident took place at halftime during Wednesday's match, when a confrontation between a steward and a Hapoel Petah Tikva fan escalated into violence, which was documented on social media and sparked significant outrage.
"The incident shocked us all. Since it occurred, the club and the 'Ha-Kchula' association have been working non-stop to support Liam and his family and to ensure the matter is handled with full severity," the statement read. Representatives of the 'Ha-Kchula' association visited Liam at his home following his hospital discharge, presenting him with a gift package and a season ticket for the 2026/27 season. "We will continue to stand by Liam until his full recovery and do everything in our power to ensure justice is served and those involved are held accountable."
The club remains in constant contact with the Israel Police. "We demanded a swift and decisive investigation, including the arrest of those responsible, which occurred shortly after the incident. We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement to ensure all involved face consequences."
Simultaneously, the club has demanded a full investigative report from the security company. Hapoel insists that only properly trained stewards, preferably with previous experience at team matches, be deployed at Hapoel 'Mivne' Petah Tikva games. "We have made it clear to the security company that such incidents are unacceptable and that we maintain a zero-tolerance policy."
The club also noted that the shortage of qualified stewards is a systemic issue within Israeli football. "We call on the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Leagues Administration, and all relevant parties to formulate a long-term solution that ensures a safe environment for all fans."
