Legitimizing Antisemitism: Back to the Court Jews, Model 2026
The alignment of Jews with their greatest haters is a historical pathological phenomenon. Members of our people who have developed a political Stockholm syndrome are turning their backs on the most basic moral codes of Judaism, effectively fulfilling the command to 'love your enemies.'
Meet the Court Jews, Model 2026. The level of their detachment from reality after October 7 is both stunning and frustrating: thousands of them helped Zohran Mamdani, a Hamas supporter, get elected to the New York City Council. They did this even though he is a clear hater of Israel, a serial boycotter, and someone who still struggles to condemn — without 'ifs' or 'buts' — the October 7 massacre. In Britain, there are also such people: about 1,000 Jewish leaders and activists effectively joined antisemitic boycott organizations by calling on their government not to trade with the settlements in Judea and Samaria.
According to an AP and NORC poll, 44% of US Jews still think well of Mamdani today. Hundreds of thousands of them voted for him. The head of the office for combating antisemitism, whom Mamdani chose, is Philsa Wisdom, a Jewish woman considered a sharp critic of Israel who previously refrained from condemning Hamas rocket fire on Israeli civilians.
Another supporter of Mamdani is the Jewish author and playwright Sarah Schulman, a member of the advisory board of 'Jewish Voice for Peace,' which supports BDS. She viewed the discourse surrounding the October 7 massacre as part of propaganda to shape public opinion.
While a handful of Jews from the 'Big Apple' immigrate to Israel every year, many more have become fans of our greatest haters. This is a unique historical pathological phenomenon. Members of our people who have developed a political Stockholm syndrome are effectively fulfilling the command from the Sermon on the Mount: 'Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.' They turn their backs on the most basic moral codes of Judaism, such as 'If someone comes to kill you, rise up and kill him first,' forgetting that compassion for the cruel eventually leads to cruelty toward the merciful.
Jewish progressives are sure they have bought their place in the US Democratic Party, but they will discover they are treated with a 'use and discard' approach. Because whoever denies the right of the Jewish people to exist in Jerusalem will not protect the existence of a Jew in New York.
Fake Jewish Patriotism
The original 'Court Jews' of Europe flattered those in power in the 18th–20th centuries, mistakenly thinking that showing understanding for their haters' accusations would make them accepted in non-Jewish society. The most famous was Issachar Süsskind Oppenheimer, known as 'Jew Süss,' a financial advisor to Duke Karl of Württemberg. After the Duke died, he was hanged in front of 10,000 cheering people.
The tragedy of the Court Jews reached its peak on the eve of the Holocaust, as described by historian Frederic Grunfeld in 'Prophets Without Honor.' He paints a portrait of suicidal love: an intellectual elite that raised German culture, naively believing that progressivism would save them from nationalism. The bitter end is known.
Today's tragedy of fake Jewish patriotism is repeating itself in the US and Britain in English with a New York accent. Progressive politicians like Brad Lander, who whitewash political filth like Mamdani, are disconnecting from the vast majority of New York Jewry that supports Israel.
Surge in Hate Crimes
Jewish politicians hoping for a place at the Democratic court will soon realize they are being used. When Mamdani and the DSA finish using the legitimacy they provided, they will normalize extreme anti-Zionist positions at the national level. The first signs are the exclusion of Jews from the advisory body for selecting judges in New York. It is no wonder that a 53% surge in hate crimes against Jews was recorded in July.
This is what antisemitic progressivism looks like under an intellectual guise. Many delude themselves that supporting a mayor who boycotts the Jewish state will buy them immunity. But whoever will not protect the right of a Jew in Jerusalem will not protect it in New York. Mamdani's 'Court Jews' are 'useful idiots' leading the Jewish majority into a journey of voluntary suicide. I wish they would wake up in time.
