Ministers updated: Drone attack threat concerns top security officials
During a Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee meeting, IDF and National Security Council representatives stated that the constant arming of Israel's enemies makes the drone threat a top priority for the security establishment. A senior official previously admitted: "There is a very serious threat here for which we have no solution."
In a closed session of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee held on Thursday, representatives of the National Security Council informed lawmakers that the cabinet had received a warning regarding the drone threat. The specific targets and origins of the threat were not disclosed.
Representatives from the IDF and the National Security Council noted that Israel's enemies are constantly arming themselves, and the possibility of drone attacks is a major concern for the security establishment. Last month, a senior Israeli official stated that Jerusalem plans to implement strict regulations and a ban on drone usage due to fears of explosive or fiber-optic drones being deployed amid the ongoing escalation with Iran. The matter has been discussed extensively within the political-security cabinet.
Security sources indicated that there is currently no evidence of explosive or fiber-optic drones being present in the West Bank.

Israel fears scenarios involving the use of such drones against public figures or institutions. It was previously revealed that the military has identified Iranian efforts to destabilize the West Bank by introducing the use of explosive drones, similar to those causing damage to IDF forces in Lebanon. As a preventive measure, the IDF is confiscating every drone located in the sector.
