The Tate brothers beg to be released: "We are treated like El Chapo"

Brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate appeared in a Florida court on Thursday and demanded to be released from custody to fight their extradition process to the UK. The two, who face serious charges of rape and human trafficking, harshly criticized the detention conditions in the United States. Their lawyers argued that their high public status would prevent any attempt to escape.

Lawyers for the US government opposed their release, arguing that the brothers pose a significant flight risk. They noted that the brothers had previously boasted about owning multiple passports and having access to financial resources that could fund an escape. Conversely, the brothers' lawyers argued that their high public profile makes escape almost impossible.

During the hearing, 39-year-old Andrew Tate stated:

"I have never committed the crimes attributed to me," adding that he is "treated like El Chapo."

His brother, 38-year-old Tristan Tate, described his detention conditions as difficult, crowded, and hot, with little sunlight and physical activity, and claimed he had lost 6.3 kg of his weight. The British Embassy submitted documents to the court requesting that the brothers remain in custody.

Also testifying in favor of Andrew Tate was his partner, Natasha Sassay, who described a five-year relationship during which they had one child and she is expecting another. Sassay emphasized that despite his online image, Andrew Tate "has never been violent towards women." US President Donald Trump, whom the Tate brothers support, will not intervene in the extradition case.
