"The Democrats" used the hostages' families as a spearhead – and then threw them away

What a spectacular sight: Yair Golan's "The Democrats" party presents us with a wonderful lesson in political integrity, pure democracy, and the "use and discard" method. Look at how it works in the "enlightened" camp: for years they used Einav Zangauker. They hugged her, brought her up to speak, turned her and her tragedy into the spearhead of the protest, and used her with all their might when her son was a hostage in Gaza.

And then Yair Golan calls her, offers her a shiny reserved spot at the top, and makes her sign a silence protocol: "Lower your media profile," he asks, "do not run in the primaries, trust me, a word is a word." And Einav, in her innocence, believes.

Let's set the record straight – Einav is not everyone's cup of tea on the right, far from it. But she naively believed Yair Golan. And just before the lists are closed, hop! The word is no longer a word, the promise disappears, and Yair Golan simply uses and discards.

And the excuse? Simply delicious: Golan suddenly remembers that he is a "man of democracy," that he is filled with reverence for the decision of the voters in the primaries, and therefore, what luck! He decides to cancel the reserved spots.

How principled, how virtuous, and how convenient. We are already used to politicians not keeping promises, but here there is a system. The left-wingers and all the protest experts made a huge ride on her and the families in the streets, entered the Knesset on their backs, and in fact turned "The Democrats" into a party that is entirely made up of protest figures.

Everyone got jobs and seats, and only Einav was thrown to the side of the road the moment she stopped being useful. And of course, Golan did not forget to treat us to a scripted apology drama: "I am sorry from the bottom of my heart, I bear responsibility," and then with the utmost generosity offers her a "position in the campaign." In other words: continue to do the dirty work for us, while we cash in.

What pure hypocrisy. With Yair Golan and "The Democrats," a word is a word until they are done using you. So friends, continue to talk high and mighty about norms and values in the studios.
