Israeli technology company Stratasys, which trades on NASDAQ under the ticker SSYS, announced today that it has received $7.8 million in funding as part of the 2026 Organic Industrial Base (OIB) Modernization Challenge, awarded by America Makes and the US Department of Defense.

The funding is provided over a 24-month period and is intended to support the development of quality control capabilities for Stratasys' industrial FDM 3D printing platforms, specifically the F3300 and F900 models.

This development is expected to allow manufacturers to generate process data in real-time during the production cycle. This capability is designed to assist in scaling 3D printing production volumes, expanding capacity, and reducing reliance on expensive post-print inspection and qualification processes.

As part of the program, Stratasys will work to advance capabilities that enable more efficient control of production processes, with the goal of providing manufacturers with ongoing information about the printing process and supporting the expansion of additive manufacturing technologies within the defense industry.

"America Makes is a public-private partnership in the field of 3D printing and the National Institute for Innovation in Additive Manufacturing in the US. The organization brings together entities from industry, government, and academia to promote the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies and strengthen US industrial competitiveness and defense readiness."

Through the 2026 OIB program, America Makes supports projects designed to advance critical manufacturing capabilities for the American industry, strengthen supply chains, and expand the US industrial and defense base. For Stratasys, this funding complements the company's existing industrial 3D printing operations, particularly in developing solutions that enable large-scale production while improving control and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
