Three days ago, it was claimed in the Netherlands that Monza had contacted Maccabi Tel Aviv regarding the possibility of adding the defender during the current transfer window. According to that same report, the Italian team was not the only one following him, but at that stage, it was considered the most serious club among those interested. Subsequently, the names of Lecce and the Turkish club Kasimpasa were also added.
24-year-old Asante moved to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the summer of 2024 from ADO Den Haag, after the "yellows" paid about 600,000 euros for him. In his two seasons in Israel, he became a significant player and won all possible titles with the team. To date, he has recorded about 90 official appearances for Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Asante's contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv is valid for another season, with an option for an additional year, and therefore any potential move will depend on reaching an agreement between the clubs.
In the 5:0 victory over Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League qualifiers, Asante played 10 minutes as a substitute, having been sidelined earlier by a virus.
