Shocking motive revealed: The sum for which Adv. Arbel Feldman was murdered

A dramatic development in the investigation of the murder that shocked the legal profession: police yesterday released a transcript of the emergency call to the 100 hotline and the interrogation of the suspect in the murder of Adv. Arbel Feldman at his office in Rishon LeZion.

"Urgent, urgent. My law partner was shot to death. I hid," Feldman's partner was heard shouting in the call. Medical teams summoned to the scene were forced to pronounce the lawyer's death.

The murder suspect is 24-year-old Ahmad al-Rajoub from Ramle, who was a client of the deceased. Footage from the initial interrogation at the Shfela District Police, conducted just two hours after the shooting, shows al-Rajoub appearing remarkably calm.

When the investigator told him, "You did something very bad. Two hours ago," the suspect turned and asked: "Is he dead?" On the day of the incident, al-Rajoub turned himself in to police after a short manhunt and later confessed to the act.

The motive for the murder, as emerged during the investigation, is a dispute over a financial debt. Al-Rajoub claimed in his interrogation that Feldman represented him in a lawsuit following a car accident he was involved in before October 7.

"They told me he was a top-notch lawyer. After a court hearing, it was decided that I would receive compensation of 15,000 shekels, and for three years I have been chasing him," the suspect said, adding regarding the shooting: "I arrived with the gun. We didn't talk much - I shot him."

Police have filed a prosecutor's statement against the suspect, and an indictment for murder is expected to be filed in the coming days.
