Drama in the Histadrut reaches the labor court: Will Krushinsky's removal be cancelled?
The removal of the MAHAR union chair initiated by Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David is expected to be approved tomorrow, but the labor court has decided to suspend the implementation of the decision until a hearing on the legality of the move this coming Thursday.
The Histadrut's house of representatives is expected to decide tomorrow (Sunday) to remove the chair of the MAHAR union, Alexandra Krushinsky, from her position. However, the labor court in Bat Yam has ordered that the removal must not be carried out before August 5.
Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David decided last week to remove Krushinsky from her position as chair of the MAHAR union. Her attorney, Ilan Bombach, petitioned the labor court in Bat Yam with a demand to stop the removal process. The court issued an order just before the Sabbath began, prohibiting the execution of the removal, and has now postponed it. If the Histadrut's house of representatives approves the move by August 5 (Wednesday), the labor court will hold a hearing on the legality of the removal process.
In recent months, severe disputes have erupted between the chairman of the Histadrut and the chair of the MAHAR union. Bar-David announced that this is the first time he has been forced to carry out a removal process, as he no longer sees room for Krushinsky to continue in her role, claiming she is failing in her duties—a claim that was denied entirely by her and her attorney, Bombach.
