Client to be charged with the murder of his lawyer: "He did not agree with the ruling - and took out his anger on Feldman"

"Murderer. Look at your face. When you arrived to murder, your face was seen." This is what the lawyer friends of Adv. Arbel Feldman shouted at the suspect in his murder, Ahmad al-Rajoub, as he sat on the suspect's bench at the Magistrate's Court in Rishon LeZion. The court extended his detention by four additional days, and the prosecution filed a prosecutor's statement against him with the intention of filing an indictment for premeditated murder.

"A review of the investigation material in the Shfela Central Unit (YAMAR) case shows that there is sufficient evidentiary infrastructure to file an indictment," the statement read.

Upon entering the hearing, the suspect covered his head with the brown jacket of the Israel Prison Service (IPS), and the lawyer friends of the murder victim shouted at him: "Take the cover off your face, murderer. You arrived to murder, you were seen on cameras with an exposed face, now you are hiding." Feldman's sister and brother also arrived at the hall.

Adv. Yigal Frey, chairman of the Courts Committee of the Israel Bar Association, who arrived as a close friend of Adv. Feldman, said: "A despicable murderer who did not agree with the court's ruling of 15,000 shekels that it ruled for him and his father. Because of this, he murdered the lawyer who represented him. The murder suspect shot Adv. Arbel because of the legal outcome and took out his anger on Adv. Arbel Feldman who represented him. There is no murder here at all whose motive is a financial dispute."

The murder occurred on August 4, in broad daylight, at Feldman's office in Rishon LeZion. The police officers who were called to the scene found his body after he was shot with four bullets from close range. A representative of the Shfela YAMAR said at the hearing that "the suspect left his home towards Adv. Feldman's office, equipped with a weapon. He drove to the office, went up to the floor and within a few seconds carried out two rounds of shooting - first in front of the victim and then at the victim in his back. He went out, got into a vehicle and drove south. On the way, he destroyed the phone and the weapon, which has not yet been seized."

According to him, "later he arrived at the Lachish YAMAR in Ashdod and turned himself in. At the beginning of the investigation, he first confessed, and then maintained his right to silence." Al-Rajoub's defense attorney, Adv. Oren Sasson, said that "the investigation has not yet ended, we are still waiting for the results of tests." Adv. Sasson claims that the weapon was not found, and wondered if the police have proof that the suspect was with a weapon. The police representative replied that there is documentation of the suspect leaving the office with the pistol.

The suspect was Feldman's client, and arrived at the office equipped with a pistol that he held illegally. He was documented on security cameras going up in the elevator, before he reached Feldman's room and shot him. In the hearing last week, the police claimed that the background to the act is a financial dispute of 15,000 shekels. Then the court determined that the suspect would be examined by a psychiatrist. Israel Feldman, the father of the murdered man, cried out in tears: "Murder for the sake of murder?! A person comes with a pistol for one purpose - to murder."
