Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, conducted a tour of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. During the visit, he held discussions with battalion commanders regarding the operational situation and met with division and brigade commanders to express his appreciation for their efforts in protecting the residents of Israel.

"We are implementing the security concept we defined — not only here, but along all the borders of the State of Israel. In the Gaza Strip, we have struck Hamas, weakened it significantly, and changed the security situation. The IDF will continue to act with initiative, remove threats, and ensure the protection of our communities. We will not allow the formation of a threat on our borders like the one we experienced on October 7," stated Eyal Zamir.

The Chief of General Staff highlighted the success of the Southern Command in maintaining continuous offensive operations.

"A tangible example of this is the pursuit of the Nukhba terrorists and everyone who was a partner in the planning and execution of the October 7 massacre. This is a permanent and ongoing mission that the command is fulfilling with great success. The images from the communities, the Bibas family, the observers, and all the victims of the October 7 massacre stand before our eyes every day. We will continue to pursue those responsible, and we will not let up until we settle the score with everyone who had a part in the massacre — sooner or later."

In closing, Eyal Zamir emphasized that the protection of residents in the Gaza envelope remains the IDF's primary objective.
