Tax Authority issues urgent warning: Do not open these emails
An official notice warns against a new and dangerous fraud attempt, in which fake letters are sent regarding the opening of a tax investigation in order to steal personal details and access passwords of innocent citizens.
The Tax Authority warns the public against a fraud attempt. In a notice published on the official website, it was stated that a report was received regarding a fraud attempt in which emails are sent to citizens while impersonating the government body. The messages present a false claim regarding the opening of an investigation into tax offenses and include links aimed at obtaining personal information, including access details for systems and files.
"The Tax Authority emphasizes that it has no connection to these messages and draws the public's attention to refrain from opening suspicious links or providing personal details such as passwords, identification numbers, etc.," the official notice stated.
In recent days, the institution announced that reservists can submit an application for a grant due to indirect damage caused by reserve service for the months of May-June 2026. Applications can be submitted online on the website.
Submission of the application will be possible until December 31, 2026, and the payment will be made as soon as possible and no later than 14 days from the date of determining eligibility. For applications that require an in-depth examination by the Tax Authority and the Assistance Fund, the grant amount will be determined within three months from the date of submission, except for exceptional cases that will require in-depth study or completion of documents, in which the examination period may be extended. National Insurance benefits granted for the eligibility period will not be deducted from the grant amount.
Self-employed individuals who served more than 21 consecutive days during 2026 under a call-up order for any purpose are eligible for the grant. A reservist who performed several periods of reserve service of 21 days or more with breaks will receive a grant for each period of service separately. In addition, reservists who are not eligible for compensation according to the conditions mentioned so far will be eligible if they served in the reserves for at least 30 days that are not consecutive, within a two-month period ending in an even month.
