President Donald Trump received a tremendous honor yesterday, Monday, in the United States. Palm Beach International Airport in Florida was officially renamed in his honor, following legislation signed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in March 2026.

The new name went into effect on July 9, 2026, and by today, August 18, 2026, all airline booking and display systems were fully updated. Concurrently, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) updated the airport identifier to DJT (previously PBI).

This is an unusual move, as it marks the first major American airport to be named after a sitting president. According to estimates by the county's Department of Airports, the cost of rebranding, system replacements, and new signage could reach up to 5.5 million dollars.

The President's son, Eric Trump, arrived at the airport and posted a message on X welcoming the milestone: "I am deeply honored that at 5:01 AM, Trump Force One will be the first plane to land at Palm Beach International Airport, which will forever be called the President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT)."

Trump himself welcomed the move, calling it a "very big day." He noted that the airport is expected to undergo further significant changes, improvements, and upgrades.
