Saudi Arabia and US Strike: "20 Iranian Advisors Killed in Iraq"
The "New York Times" reports a significant number of casualties following strikes in Iraq, drawing severe threats from militia umbrella organizations. A US official confirmed that the targets were attacked intentionally to degrade the militias' ability to launch missiles and UAVs.
Approximately 20 Iranian advisors, including members of the Revolutionary Guards and technical experts, were killed in strikes conducted by the US military and Saudi Arabia in Iraq overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday. This was reported by the "New York Times," citing an American source.
The source noted that the targets in Iraq were bombed intentionally to strike them directly and to degrade the ability of pro-Iranian militias to launch missiles and UAVs. While militia officials initially claimed six fatalities, the latest reports indicate a significantly higher death toll.
The umbrella organization of pro-Iranian militias, the "Islamic Resistance in Iraq," issued a threat this evening:
"Our response to the American enemy is inevitable, and it may be directed at its agents in Saudi Arabia at any time that circumstances justify it."
The organization also set an ultimatum for the Iraqi government to act and "show that it can protect the sovereignty of Iraq" by August 6.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has threatened to renew strikes against Iran itself following a "surprise attack" on an American base in Jordan, where five missiles were intercepted. In an interview with "Fox News," the President stated that the US military would strike Iran hard:
"We're going to beat the fucking shit out of them."
