The shocking video by Sheffi Paz caused a storm online: "It is supposed to shock"

Social activist Sheffi Paz caused a storm online after posting a harsh video against illegal migrants in south Tel Aviv, featuring clips edited using artificial intelligence, showing migrants being collected from public spaces by a garbage truck's mechanical arm and thrown into it.

Later in the video, the truck is seen arriving at the seashore, where the people are unloaded and put onto rafts and rubber boats that are sent out to sea. The truck driver waves goodbye to them, and at the end of the video, the words appear: "Everyone, now".

The harsh imagery sparked criticism online, including from users who clarified that they identify with Paz's struggle against the phenomenon of illegal migration, but find it difficult to accept the way the message was presented in the video.

Paz, for her part, did not back down and responded to the critics:

"Two comments for those who have difficulty understanding: a. The AI video uses real images taken on the streets. Each and every one of the migrants thrown in the public space was photographed by the residents. b. Anyone whose children are not forced to encounter these sights every morning and step over drug addicts at the entrances to buildings and on the streets, should show a little humility and be quiet."

Later, she addressed the claims that the video could be used against the struggle she is leading:

"I think that sane people in the world have already understood that people lying drugged on the streets are not a nice thing that can be tolerated for the sake of political correctness. Those who will use the video against us are antisemites anyway and crazy anyway. And we are really tired."

According to her, the residents she represents have "only one dream - to wake up in the morning, go out to the street and not see a single illegal migrant." Paz also clarified that the harsh effect of the video was intentional: "The video is supposed to shock. I want everyone who supports them to come and collect them from the streets before the garbage truck comes."
