Kfar Saba Man Charged With Brutal Assault and Killing of His Dog
A Kfar Saba man was charged with severely beating an acquaintance and killing his husky, claiming divine visions prompted the attacks while the victim suffered major facial fractures.

A 50-year-old resident of Kfar Saba, Lior Sharaf, has been formally charged with the severe assault of an acquaintance and the killing of his Siberian husky. According to the indictment filed by the Central District Attorney's Office, the incident occurred following an evening of heavy drinking and drug use at the defendant's apartment.
The Assault and Religious Delusions
Investigators stated that Sharaf suddenly began punching the victim in the face repeatedly until she lost consciousness. Following the brutal beating, he retrieved a samurai sword, left the apartment, and approached three men sitting on a nearby balcony. Noticing blood on his person, the men offered to accompany him to Meir Medical Center. Sharaf agreed, but fled upon reaching the hospital entrance.
Upon returning to his apartment, Sharaf found the victim bleeding heavily on the floor, with his husky licking her wounds. Instead of seeking medical assistance, he threw a hammer at the dog, chased it into another room, and fatally stabbed it with a kitchen knife.
Medical Response and Indictment
Police officers and an MDA (Magen David Adom) crew arrived at the scene after being alerted by concerned witnesses. The victim suffered extensive facial fractures, including a shattered nose and cheekbone, and spent three days hospitalized.
During police questioning, Sharaf offered conflicting accounts, initially blaming the dog before claiming that divine intervention had driven his actions. He told investigators that he viewed the victim as a demon before believing he was commanded to sacrifice his dog instead, drawing a parallel to the biblical binding of Isaac. The Central District Attorney's Office has requested that he remain in detention pending the conclusion of legal proceedings.
