The cyber company Echo has acquired the assets of the company Minimus in an all-cash deal, after the latter chose to cease its operations and return some of the funds it received to the company's investors. The scope of the deal is estimated at a few million dollars, under which Echo will acquire the technology that Minimus developed during its period of operation. This is in addition to acquiring its operations with clients, including Blackstone, SentinelOne, RBS, and other Fortune 500 companies. Some of Minimus's employees will be offered to join Echo.

Last week, it was reported that Minimus decided to cease its operations after its founders' second attempt to spin off the company's operations did not succeed. The acquisition is expected to upgrade the portfolio of software and services offered by Echo. Minimus competed with Echo in the field of secure infrastructure for organizations and software supply chain security.

Each of the companies developed a secure software infrastructure for organizations, with the goal of preventing security breaches at the software construction stage, instead of discovering and fixing them after the fact. The companies took common open-source software components to automatically check and fix security vulnerabilities in them, and to provide organizations with clean and secure versions that can be integrated directly into their systems. Thus, instead of development and security teams having to deal with thousands of vulnerabilities and perform manual fixes, it becomes possible to use from the start software components that have undergone hardening and continuous updating.

"Minimus built a significant technology around a problem that both they and we believe is fundamental. When it became clear that Minimus was ceasing its operations, we saw an opportunity to ensure that the work they did would not disappear," says Elon Elhadad, CEO and co-founder of Echo. "We are bringing the best of what they built into Echo, while simultaneously giving their customers a way to continue using secure software."

"When we made the decision to cease Minimus's operations, our priority was to find the right home for the technology we built, and first and foremost the right path forward for our customers," said Ben Bernstein, co-founder and CEO of Minimus. "We share the approach that software should be secure by default. We are confident that our technology and our customers are in the right hands."

Echo was founded in 2025 by Elhadad and Eilam Milner, serial entrepreneurs who sold the previous startup they founded to Aqua Security for $100 million. The company raised $50 million in Seed and A rounds from investors Notable Capital, N47, Hyperwise Ventures, SentinelOne, SVCI. Minimus was founded in 2022 by entrepreneurs Bernstein, Dima Stoppel, and John Morello, who sold the previous company they founded to Palo Alto Networks. They raised a $51 million Seed round led by YL Ventures with the participation of Mayfield and several of the founders of Wiz — Assaf Rappaport, Ami Luttwak, and Roy Reznik.
