The reason for Dubrovsky's reservation: An answer to Likud officials or a fear of Eisenkot?

MK Ariel Kallner was interviewed on Tuesday's afternoon news and addressed the inclusion of Oren Dubrovsky, the new and surprising figure reserved for the Likud list:

"On the contrary. I am in favor of people of this type who will strengthen the Likud."

According to Kallner, "Dubrovsky knows how to bring in other audiences, among other things thanks to the screen time he has accumulated and the popularity that comes with it. His worldview, from what I have been exposed to, is national." When asked if he thinks the reservation of Dubrovsky comes as a counter-reaction to party officials in the Likud who create a problematic image for the party, Kallner responded:

"Maybe he is universal? Maybe Dubrovsky represents the big world and brings an international-American flavor? Maybe Benjamin Netanyahu understands that someone is needed who is not identified with Likud party bureaucracy?"

Kallner rejected these notions with a certain reservation: "Indeed, there are interested parties within the Likud, but the phenomenon is getting more volume than what exists in reality." According to him, the reason is primarily different:

"This reservation came because there is an understanding that there is a public that might fall for Eisenkot's spins."

He stated that this is the real reason behind the recruitment of Dubrovsky to the party. These comments follow the additional blitz of reservations that took place last night. As previously reported, some commentators believe the move is intended, among other things, to create a more moderate image for the Likud. It appears that the recruitment of Dubrovsky may have been intended to promote exactly this goal.
