Danish Prime Minister to plastic surgeon: "I am happy with my body, I don't need your opinion"
Mette Frederiksen shared in an Instagram post that she received a message from a surgeon who offered to "fix a small flaw" in her nose. She added that over the years she has received many messages regarding her appearance.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen revealed that she received a message from a plastic surgeon upon her return from a visit to Ukraine. The surgeon suggested that Frederiksen fix a "small flaw" in her nose. Frederiksen replied that she is happy with her body and shared the exchange in an Instagram post.
"I really don't need the opinion of a male plastic surgeon," Frederiksen wrote in her response.
The Prime Minister noted that she has lost count of the number of messages she has received over the years regarding her appearance, including comments about her teeth, thinning hair, and suggestions to get Botox. She emphasized that she does not judge others and feels completely comfortable with her body as she approaches her 50th birthday.
"The war in Europe continues, and one of the first messages I received when I returned was this one," she wrote. "If you want to write to me, I hope you will dedicate your time to talk about something better, and not about my nose."
Frederiksen, a social democrat, has just begun her third term, making her one of the most experienced leaders in Europe. She has led Denmark, a member of the European Union and NATO, since mid-2019. She has pledged to maintain a firm stance regarding the ambitions of US President Donald Trump concerning Greenland and to continue supporting Ukraine in the face of the war with Russia.
