Police stopped a vehicle with cloned license plates and discovered a pistol and explosives

The police announced that an indictment was filed against a 29-year-old resident of Kisra-Sumei after a search of his vehicle revealed weapons, including a loaded Glock pistol, plastic explosives, and an improvised explosive device. The indictment was filed at the Haifa District Court, along with a request to hold him in custody until the end of the proceedings.

According to the police, on July 17, 2026, in the early morning, officers of the Northern District stopped a vehicle in the town of Kisra-Sumei after it was discovered that it had cloned license plates installed that did not match the vehicle type.

During the search, plastic explosives were found between the defendant's legs. A loaded Glock pistol was found on his person, and an improvised explosive device consisting of an electric detonator was found on the floor of the seat where he was sitting.

The suspect's detention was extended, and upon the conclusion of the investigation, the Haifa District Attorney's Office filed the indictment against him at the Haifa District Court.
