The mother of 'HaTzel's' children breaks silence: "I can't sit on the sidelines anymore"

Lin Mor, the mother of the children of right-wing activist Yoav Eliasi ("HaTzel"), broke her silence on Monday and addressed the media storm surrounding his official dismissal from the police: "I can't sit on the sidelines anymore. Usually I don't intervene and Yoav certainly doesn't like me speaking on his behalf, but I see the celebrations of hatred, the curses, and the schadenfreude, and I am simply disgusted." In a post she published on her Instagram account, she wrote: "I will tell you a little about the man you all love to hate."

Mor noted that while on October 7th all of our lives stopped, "for Yoav they changed completely. Already on October 8th, he gathered equipment, filled a vehicle, and drove to the fighters when there were still terrorists in the field and rockets were falling. Later, he came to perform for them to give them a few minutes of air in the middle of the hell." According to her, shortly thereafter, he decided to establish a unit.

"Three years where instead of investing in family, music, and career, he volunteered for the police. Nights when the clock rang at 3 AM and he put on a uniform and went out for activity. Countless trainings. While we ran to the protected space and the children cried and trembled, he left us and ran exactly to the place from which everyone fled. During the rounds against Iran, we almost didn't see him," she recounted.

According to her, when buildings across the country sustained hits, "he didn't ask who there agrees with him politically and who doesn't. He just ran inside. All this without receiving a shekel. Not for a position, a headline, or applause." Later, she noted that the media storm and the criticism he received regarding his dismissal from the police affected her as well: "I open the networks and see people cursing him, celebrating his dismissal, and calling him 'divisive' and 'criminal.' And I ask: do you even know who you are talking about?"

Mor clarified unequivocally:

"There is no problem with not agreeing with Yoav politically. It is allowed to criticize him and it is allowed not to like him. But there is a huge distance between disagreement and hatred. To erase three years of giving and risking life because of a political opinion is no longer criticism. I know this person. I know what kind of heart he has, how much he gives when no camera is around, and how much he loves this country and the people who live in it, even those who think the opposite of him."

According to her, "the man you are cursing was willing to risk his life for you too." As Eliasi himself noted, unlike the network – on the street, one encounters a different reality. "The amount of love he receives is inconceivable. I am also proud of him. Very much. But I am also happy that it is over. Because enough. Like everything you do, you gave big and to the end." Mor signed off the post with an unequivocal statement: "One can argue about opinions, but giving, courage, and volunteering deserve a minimum of respect. Yoav, we know who you are."

As recalled, Yoav Eliasi was officially dismissed the day before yesterday from the police after undergoing a hearing following the affair in which he was investigated by the Police Investigation Department. Eliasi served as a standby squad commander in the Tel Aviv District, and after the exposure of the affair, his activity was frozen, his weapon was deposited, and later he was summoned for a hearing. Last night, the decision was made to end his volunteering in the police.
